What the Dogs Dug Up

Last March, we adopted two rescue dogs (brother and sister) named Buddy and Buttercup. Since we've had them, they have dug up some interesting finds including some interesting looking rocks (one fossilized, another that looks like someone stuck their fingers into it, and another one that looks like it was some sort of tool or arrowhead. Also, our little archeologist dogs have discovered a small piece of brown pottery with writing on it, the neck of an ornate-looking glass bottle or small vase, a piece of aqua-colored tile, and something that looks like milk glass.

Recent Antique Finds Part 1

If you know me, you know I love antiques. Here are a few of my most recent additions: a cast-iron match holder, an interesting round wooden box, my new skeleton key collection in an old Ball jar, and buttons in an old jar. Gotta love old jars!

Recent Antique Finds Part 2

Recent antiques I've discovered including a pair of binoculars, a "T" coaster (not an antique, but I found them at a thrift store and painted them), an old shaving mirror, and a sewing stand that I bought for $5 at a garage sale. I am planning on adding a table top to it (soon hopefully)... then just to find the right place to put it!

Recent Antique Finds Part 3

Just a few antique Items I've recently purchased or aquired including a dust pan made out of an old license plate, an old worn shelf, a "sprinkler" used for early washing machines, a collection of rug beaters, and lastly, I salvaged a piece of wood and attached two glass door knobs that had been original to the house.

Wall of Shame, I mean Fame

The old cedar chest that belonged to my grandmother (probably from the '50's). I recently updated it with a fresh coat of paint and upholstered the top so it can double as a sitting bench.

The Bathroom Vanity

As soon as we feel comfortable taking a stab at cutting mosaic tile glass, we'll be laying it over our lovely wallboard vanity that we are enjoying currently. Notice the "Gary was here" written on it.
